Today marks one year since the murder of Venezuelan congressman Robert Serra, who was found at his home, stabbed to death along with his assistant Maria Herrera. A Colombian paramilitary group is linked to the murders. Serra was the country’s youngest lawmaker and was expected to become a top leader of the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela. He was honored at a special session of the National Assembly and in a public gathering, where his mother spoke of moving forward with love, not hate. teleSUR
