Are you looking for relief for pinched nerves? At our chiropractic office in Cedar Rapids, IA we helped many people dealing with the pain of pinched nerves. You may wonder if your pain is from a sore muscle or from a nerve, but remember that muscles get sore and nerves hurt. So how and why does this happen?

Nerves extend from your brain and spinal cord, sending important messages throughout your body. If you have a pinched nerve (nerve compression) your body may send you warning signals such as pain. Don't ignore these warning signals. Damage from a pinched nerve may range from mild to severe, and may cause temporary or long-lasting chronic problems. The earlier you get a diagnosis and treatment for nerve compression, the more quickly you'll find relief, and the more likely you will prevent your problem from becoming chronic.

Some causes of pinched nerve include being in a fixed position for an extended period of time, repetitive motions, or a sudden trauma. Pinched nerves can cause local pain in the neck or back, or may cause radiating symptoms to the extremities. You may notice numbness and tingling in the shoulder, arm, or wrist. You may also experience a shooting pain from the spine to other parts of the body. Another symptom of pinched nerves is weakness in a certain muscle group.

If any of the above information applies to you, call us at 319-393-4303 to set up your free consultation. If we can help you, we will let you know.
