IKEA was founded by Ingvar Kamprad when he was 17 years old when his father gave him money as a reward for success in studies. Originally, it sold pens, wallets, picture frames, table runners, watches, jewellery and nylon stockings. That was in the year 1943. By 1948, IKEA began selling furniture’s. First furniture showrooms of IKEA were established in 1953 in Sweden. Over the decades, their catalog grew and the company expanded to several places on the globe.
