Government Lowers Suggested Level Of Fluoride In Drinking Water

The US government has, for about 50 years, been recommending that fluoride be added to the public’s drinking water, but just recently announced a change in the suggested amount.

The US government has, for about 50 years, been recommending that fluoride be added to the public’s drinking water, but just recently announced a change in the suggested amount.


While it was once advised that the additive be present at a ratio of up to 1.2 milligrams per liter, the maximum was recently cut by nearly half to .7 milligrams.


The nation’s deputy surgeon general said that the decrease is due in part to more sources for the tooth decay-fighting mineral being available.
