Canada: Police meet austerity protests with violence in Montrea

As 75,000 people marched in Montreal to oppose Quebec's austerity measures, riot police sprayed the protesters with tear gas. Student organizers called for an end to budget cuts for education, healthcare and social services. Earlier approximately 400 police violently evicted 400 students occupying part of the University of Quebec campus, where students and faculty also opposed recent arrests and brutality used against protesters. teleSUR
