60-Year Old Chicago Man Shot Dead While Shoveling Neighborhood Snow

Bernard Monroe, a 60-year old Chicago man, was fatally shot in the head on Wednesday night while he was out shoveling snow for neighbors; neither a suspect nor motive has been identified.

A 60-year old Chicago man was shoveling snow for his neighbors in the South Side when he was shot in the head and killed.

It happened on Wednesday night around 7:30pm in the Roseland neighborhood.

The man, Bernard Monroe, lived on the block with his aunt Sharon Rolland who said he left the house that day with a shovel in his hand. 

He had intended to make a little extra money for the family by clearing out some snow. 

Then, a few minutes later someone shot him and they have no idea why. 
Police found Monroe lying on the ground with the fatal injury and pronounced him dead at the scene. 

The motive for the attack is unknown, though Rolland suspects it may have been a robbery attempt gone wrong.
