Sabudana Vada is one of those recipe that is during fasting(upvas). Its crispy and delicious and can be made as a morning or evening snack.
Ingredients:
2 boiled potato 1cup soaked sabudana (sago) 30gm roasted peanuts coarsly ground 5-6 green chillies finely chopped 1tbsp ginger paste 1tbsp roasted cumin seeds salt to taste 1tbsp sugar 1 lemon juice 1tbsp corn flour (optional) 1tbsp sesame seeds half cup coriander leaves chopped oil for deep frying
Method:
- Soak the sabudana (sago) in water for 2-3 hours. Drain of all the water from soaked sabudana. - In a bowl, mashed boiled potatoes, soaked sabudana (sago), coarsely roasted peanuts, green chillies, ginger paste, cumin seeds, salt to taste, sugar, lemon juice, corn flour, sesame seeds and coriander leaves. - Mix the entire mixture well - Grease your palm with little oil - Take some portion of the mixture and shape them into flat round vadas or patties or with heart shape mold. - Deep fry the sabudana vadas in hot oil till golden brown - Remove excess oil from it.
Serve it hot.
Sabudana Vada or Petties is served with sweet curd(yogurt) or tomato sauce.
