The 19-year-old man reportedly cut off his own left hand to help lessen his obsession with the internet. According to his mother, she found a handwritten note in the teen's bedroom which informed her he had gone to the hospital and would return to the house later.
By the time she read the message, her son had already left with a kitchen knife. While away from the residence, he used the knife to cut his hand off at the wrist.
Once that was done, he left his hand lying on the ground and called for a taxi. He was taken to the hospital and underwent reattachment surgery after local law enforcement officials found the severed hand.
