Gunfire Breaks Out During City Council Meeting

Two police officers were recently shot while a city council meeting was underway in New Hope, Minnesota.

Two New Hope, Minnesota police officers were recently shot only minutes after being sworn in. The incident occurred at the town’s city hall, where a council meeting was in progress.

Roughly 15 minutes after the police induction ceremony, the two cops were leaving the room when a man with a gun approached them. The suspect started firing his weapon and the pair was struck by the bullets.

The suspect was fatally wounded when other officers on the scene quickly returned fire.

Meanwhile, city council members were still inside the chambers and the discussion had moved on to another topic. They were taking video of their meeting when the gunfire exchange broke out.
