12/20/2014: Deanna Jaxine Stinson is an animal advocate and animal lover. Deanna loves being surrounded by animals and her love for animals holds no bounds. Deanna has a strong attraction to horses, as a young girl she rode horses, English style. When Deanna learned that her friend Gabby Heredia owned a horse named Charlotte, she looked at me and said: "Paul, we have to see Charlotte and get an impromptu interview with Gabby." Off to Woodland we went, with Hi-Pee the Corky and Princess Hannah the Pekinese to meet Charlotte.
When Gabby brought out Charlotte, she was decked to the hilt in her Christmas outfit. What a magnificent creature Charlotte is. Gabby saved Charlotte and because of that Gabby has shown true animal heroism. Charlotte was underfed and her ribs were showing. The vet felt that Charlotte was a horse with no hope and needed to be euthanized. Gabby proved this vet wrong and now when you look at Charlotte her coat is as smooth as silk, she is muscle toned and looks elegant and majestic. Charlotte is a thoroughbred. Gabby tells me that she rides Western style. I also ride Western style, as I was taught in high school at the Sanchez Adobe Ranch on Highway #1. I later honed my skills at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. But, let's get back to Charlotte and talk about some of the other animals at this ranch. Gabby has had Charlotte for 5 months. Gabby has been involved with horses for a few years now. Gabby always had a strong desire to own a horse and always owned other animals, but never a horse. One day, she made that dream come true, by owning Charlotte. When Gabby met Charlotte it was a sad sight to see. The previous owners of Charlotte could not afford feeding her, so Charlotte needed a owner that would love her and feed her, that owner would be Gabby.
Gabby felt that Charlotte could be 13 to 16 years old, but the vet argues that Charlotte is 19 to 23 years old, so Charlotte's true age is a mystery. Charlotte is very loving, but at times will get moody and playfully bite Gabby, but all in fun. At this ranch, we met Porky the Pig, other horses with names like Angel, Jericho, Sherkhan and Hercules. At this ranch, there were geese, goats, ducks, a donkey, dogs, parrots, sheep, chickens. The owners of the Ranch love the animals that live at this ranch and Porky and the chickens will never be sent to a slaughterhouse, they are to live their lives to the fullest at this wonderful ranch, the Jordan Ranch. Hi-Pee and Princess Hannah enjoyed this road trip and their walks in Woodland, along the Sacramento River and even a walk in the parking lot of Burger King in Woodland.
