Mare favelas' Museum at risk of eviction by real estate speculators

In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, around 130,000 people live in the Mare group of favelas. They built their houses there and fought to stay and to preserve the memory of their neighborhoods. The Museum of Mare tells the story of these people and it is now at risk of eviction because the company that owns the lot where the museum is built is speculating on the real-estate value of the favela. teleSUR
