00:00Venezuela's Acting President, Delcy Rodriguez, held an official visit to Barbados on Monday
00:05with the aim of strengthening the strategic agenda for bilateral cooperation.
00:09During the visit, the Acting President held high-level meetings to advance joint agreements
00:14in key areas such as energy, food production, and education as part of efforts to deepen
00:20ties between both nations and promote shared development.
00:23Journalist Isran Robinson provides more details on this matter.
00:28I'm currently here at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre in Two Mile Hill here in Bridgetown, Barbados,
00:35where important synergies are continuing to be built out between Venezuela and Barbados.
00:41Acting President, Delcy Rodriguez, and Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Amor-Mosley today
00:46discuss critical, innovative, and visionary measures taking place between the two nations.
00:51Included within that full suite of comprehensive synergies are the importance of an agro-processing
00:58plan being set up in Venezuela and Barbadian farmers leaving here on island and heading
01:03to Venezuela for bilateral relations.
01:06There's also been up for consideration the importance of Barbadians learning Spanish as a second language.
01:13Barbados established Spanish as our second language and allow our people to benefit from movement
01:21within this hemisphere, where Spanish is perhaps now spoken by more persons than English.
01:28Despite issues globally where food insecurity and energy insecurity is concerned, relations between
01:34Barbados and Venezuela continue to be strong.
01:37Hemos invitado a Barbados a que pueda invertir en campos tanto de petróleo y gas en Venezuela.
01:43We have also invited Barbados to come and invest in oil fields, also in gas exploration
01:50en Venezuela.
01:50Que se sume al esfuerzo y a la iniciativa de incrementar producción de hidrocarburos en Venezuela.
01:57To join strength to increase the production of carbon, hydrocarbons in Venezuela.
02:04This is the continuation of a beautiful partnership between the two nations, where energy security
02:10is concerned and food security as well.
02:12For Tell Us Your English, I'm Ishran Robinson.
