And the answer is no, a garden compost thermometer is not recommended for industrial use. It’s not about the quality or durability, which is pretty outstanding in the Cate’s Garden thermometer. It’s about the fact that when you take the temperature of your compost pile, you want to get near the core. Say within about 6” of the core.
