Today mythic bluesman Willis Earl Beal’s acting debut in the film Memphis comes to New York theaters. A few days ago, we invited him to stop by Vogue.com music writer Jacob Brown’s apartment to record and film a special live version of his song “Sun Down.”

Memphis opens in New York at the IFC Center today, and in L.A. next Friday, September 12 at the Sundance Sunset Cinema, with other cities to follow.
