An 83-year-old woman in Houston successfully fought off a burglar. On Sunday, Lillie McClendon found a burglar in her house and she soon tossed boiling water on him to fight him off.
An 83-year-old woman in Houston successfully fought off a burglar. On Sunday, Lillie McClendon got out of the shower and immediately noticed something wasn’t right.
Her belongings were left out of place and she spotted a side window open. Before she could piece together her thoughts, a man confronted her and demanded money.
Once the suspect started choking her, McClendon fought back. Reflecting on the incident, she remarked “I told him, I said, 'What kind of momma you got that raised you up like this? You oughta be ashamed of yourself.”
She managed to fight the attacker off and picked up a stick. McClendon attempted to hit him before grabbing a pot of boiling water which she dumped on the burglar.
He fled from the home. Although he managed to get away, he may have some minor injuries from their scuffle, as does McClendon.
Her family is just glad she’s alright and agrees the burglar chose the wrong house and woman to mess with. Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact Houston police.
