An 83-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, while the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

Next, a Wetherspoons pub in the city is set to close for almost two months while it undergoes a multi-million pound refurbishment.

The Sir John Moore pub on Argyle Street will close on 17 July until 3 October.

40 new jobs are to be created, with the company developing two surrounding shops for a larger customer area, as well as upgrading the bar.

And in other news, a new guided mural trail has launched in Glasgow, combining music with visual arts.

The Govan mural trail will be run by Glasgow Barons and Invisible Cities, highlighting local art and history in the Southside.

A spokesperson said they are aiming to put Govan on the map.
