Soul singer, musician and songwriter Bobby Womack has died at the age of 70.
The cause of his demise has not been revealed, but he suffered from cancer and Alzheimer’s disease and fought drug addiction.
Womack played, recorded and wrote for some of the industry’s greatest names including Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Wilson Pickett.
Womack was also a session guitarist and played on tracks by Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin and Dusty Springfield.
Womack wrote the smash Rolling Stones hit “It’s All Over Now.”
In the late 60s Bobby Womack started to use cocaine and by the 70s he was an addict.
Bobby Womack was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.
