Memories locked away forever
A key is found to unlock the treasure
Instead of jewels and gold
Ugliness begins to unfold
Memories of a childhood gone
Acts that were so very wrong
Hurt, anger, pain and despair
Something stolen, so precious, so rare
Memories thought gone forever
They came unbidden, whenever, wherever
Like ghosts in the night
They steal my delight
Memories to face, fears to overcome
No place to hide, the damage is done
Face your fears, don’t live with regret
You need to forgive, you can never forget
