Since the start of 2014, citizens of EU member states have the right to work anywhere in the EU. Romanians and Bulgarians had previously faced work restrictions in some member states, including Germany. Now the German government is offering financial aid to municipalities facing an influx of immigrants from Romania and Bulgaria.
