A few hours are left before the Sochi Olympics. On February 7th, the capital of 2014 Winter Games will finally open its doors for sports delegations and visitors from around the world. In light of recent events the question of security at the Games will not be left without attention, of course.
Dmitry Galochkin, Chairman of the All-Russian Trade Union of non-state security sphere:
"I believe that for the time of the Olympiccs, the city of Sochi is the safest place in the world. We understand that international terrorism declared war on Russia a long time ago. But for law enforcement bodies, it is the prime goal to ensure safety of the Sochi Olympics. There are new security technologies involved, professionals from various fields of security, including of the public sphere, of the Interior Ministry and the FSB are working there."
As Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, one needs to forget about the war at least for the time of the Games. Let's just go and do it.
