A Day In History: Niagara Falls Suspension Bridge

On July 29th of 1848 Charles Ellet, Jr. would begin work on the Niagara Falls Suspension Bridge. Unlike typical bridges of the time, this bridge would be supported by strong wire instead of traditional beams. Unfortunately, Charles Ellet, Jr. would leave the project before the bridge was finished. That's where John A. Roebling comes into play.
