In Ahmedabad , mployees on contract of the AMC,mainly of the engineering and sanitary wing - tried to disrupt waste collection in western parts of the city. Police has detained more than 100 sweepers. Invoking provisions of the Essential Services Maintenance Act , the AMC dismissed 48 contractual employees from service.
