Boeing flies high in profits and plane deliveries

US planemaker Boeing has reported a 12 percent jump in quarterly profit per share.

Investors were also impressed by an increase in aircraft deliveries as Boeing builds them faster.

That countered the effects of a slowdown in sales at its defence division.
