A new bill passed by Iranian parliament designed to protect the rights of children has a clause where fathers can marry their adopted teen daughters. The girls can be as young as thirteen, and even younger with a judge’s permission. The bill is said to help the teens caretakers but advocates say it is legalizing sex with children. The bill comes at a strange time, as new president Hassan Rouhani is trying to launch a progressive movement in the country.
