Being asked to interview is a key step in your acceptance to medical school... the medical school in question is telling you that they are interested in you and that you look good enough on paper to go there. Now they want to meet you to see if you'd make a good fit. Though the overall number of applicants to medical school has decreased, statistically, few applicants in the pool are asked to interview. And it is from this group of 10 to 15% that the class is filled.
