Zurich Unveils Sex Drive-In for Prostitutes

In an attempt to keep tabs on and regulate prostitutes, the city of Zurich in Switzerland has created a sex drive-in.

In an attempt to regulate prostitution, the city of Zurich has created a sex drive-in. Located in a former industrial area of the city, the drive-in is comprised of nine garage style sex boxes allowing a person to drive straight in with their chosen prostitute and get down to business. The sex drive-in will officially open on August 26th.

Drivers have to pass a gate to gain access to the sex boxes and as a prerequisite, they must be alone in the vehicle. They will follow a marked route to a station where around 40 prostitutes will be willing to make negotiations for sexual acts.

After the driver choses a lady, they will head to one of boxes. Alarms are set up in each one of the boxes so the prostitute can alert nearby authorities of danger.

The new site is one of three approved prostitution zones in Zurich. Those who solicit prostitutes outside of the zones face a hefty fine.

A spokesman from the social welfare department stated “We are trying to reach a situation which is better for the prostitutes themselves, for their health and security and also for people who live in Zurich.”
