You never really know what's hiding in a pile of trash.

A worker at a recycling plant in Japan recently came across a horrifying scene.

Police in Nagasaki confirmed that human body parts were discovered among pieces of recycled concrete. Law enforcement investigators were sent to the recycling facility after an employee called emergency workers to inform them of the grisly scene.

The worker claimed he saw objects that bore a striking resemblance to human hands. Police later said that both a hand and an arm were found at the facility.

Investigators said the extremities were discovered on a conveyer belt, which was used to separate concrete fragments prior to breaking them down for the recycling process. The condition of the body parts suggested that they had been encased in concrete, up until the time of the discovery.

Given the size, it is believed the limbs belonged to an adult. Police are working to determine the origins of the concrete, but it is currently thought it was sourced from within the local area.
