A special service has been held at Santiago de Compostela cathedral in northwestern Spain for the victims of the train crash near the city on Wednesday.

Pilgrims and locals packed into the centuries-old cathedral to mourn on the day they would normally celebrate the festival of Saint James. All festivities have been cancelled.
