Stopping to let an animal cross the street is something many of us do on a regular basis. However this kind gesture can also backfire and put everyone involved in danger.

Recently a family of ducks caused two separate accidents on a highway in Fredericton, Canada. According to a police authority, a vehicle traveling eastbound stopped to let the ducks cross the road.

Another car stopped behind the first, but a third vehicle was not able to hit the brakes in time. That car hit the second automobile, causing it to ram the first stopped car. Basically it was a domino effect, but fortunately no one was seriously hurt.

However, a short time later, a car which was passing a motorcyclist swerved to avoid the ducks. The vehicle hit the median and flipped over on its roof.

The driver was transported to the hospital. After all of the efforts to save the ducks, sadly, two of them died resulting from the accidents.
