When people hear the phrase “the best drone”, they usually expect a device that is flawless, versatile, and worth buying more than once. My experience, however, has been slightly different. After testing and owning several drones over the past few years, I found myself in a position where I could confidently say: there is only one drone I would ever buy again. Why? The reasons are more practical than you might think.
First, drones are not like smartphones or laptops where having multiple devices feels necessary. One high-quality drone often covers most, if not all, of your needs. Whether it’s aerial photography, videography, or simply the thrill of flying, a well-designed drone can handle these tasks with remarkable consistency. Buying a second or third one of the same model feels unnecessary because the first already fulfills its promise so effectively.
Second, durability plays a huge role. The drone I call “the best” has proven itself after countless flights, rough landings, and unpredictable weather conditions. It simply lasts. Many drones on the market look appealing with fancy features, but they lack reliability over time. This particular model convinced me that durability matters far more than adding another device to the collection.
Another factor is the learning curve. Mastering a drone takes time, especially if you’re serious about cinematic shots or professional use. By sticking to one drone, I’ve been able to refine my skills, learn its flight patterns, and push it to its maximum potential. If I had switched between different models, I would have spent more time adjusting and less time creating.
Of course, cost can’t be ignored. A premium drone is a significant investment, and for many people, one reliable purchase is better than multiple mediocre ones. Instead of buying several drones that end up collecting dust, owning one powerful, dependable machine makes financial sense.
Finally, there’s the emotional side of ownership. A drone isn’t just a gadget—it becomes part of your creative journey. I’ve grown attached to the way this particular drone responds in the air, how stable its footage looks, and how much confidence it gives me every time I launch it. Replacing it with another would feel unnecessary, almost like betraying a trusted partner.
So, why would I only buy one again? Because the best drone isn’t about quantity—it’s about quality, reliability, and the confidence it brings to every flight. When you find the one that checks all those boxes, you don’t need more. One is truly enough.

00:00All right, let's compare these two drones. Now they're very similar in size. This is the
00:06Patakoon 2K foldable drone and this is a DJI Spark. Now I've had this one several years now.
00:14It records in 1080p. Now when I got it I got the Fly More kit so I got the control and I've got
00:19two batteries for it. And I bought this case separate. It does not include the case. But
00:27now we'll pull this other one out. I'll show you what it looks like. It actually folds
00:32up. I have to unfold it here. Now it came with everything you see here. It was all included.
00:38Case and all. You can see. There's your camera on it. Basically the same as this. This is
00:47just a single axis gimbal versus this is a dual axis. But you got your power button here on
00:53the top. Your battery goes here in the back. It did include two batteries. And your micro
00:59SD card goes down here. The control on this one. Let me get the other case here. Looks like this.
01:09Got a phone holder right here on it. Same basic design as this control. Most of the buttons
01:16are even the same. This one holds your phone down here in the bottom. But still you're pretty
01:22basically the same. This one is supposed to record in 2K. And this one is only 1080p.
01:27But I'm telling you right now the 1080p on the DJI is better than the 2K on this one by far.
01:33Now my biggest negative with this drone is between the app, the Wi-Fi, something between
01:40your phone and the drone when you're trying to watch it. There's a little bit of a lag.
01:43So you can fly it okay. But as far as recording video, it's just not the greatest to be honest.
01:51But it's a fraction of the price of the DJI Spark. So there is that. And if you're just
01:58wanting something to learn on, this is absolutely wonderful for that. And it actually works pretty
02:03well. It just, like I said, it has a lag in the video. And it's not a real bad lag. But
02:08it's enough that it makes it tough to record video with. Just to have it in the right spot
02:13at the right time.
