00:00Hi Oscar. Last week during a game of tag, my friend Sara tripped and scrapped her knee and ever since she is scared. She has refused to play with me today as well. How can I help her regain her confidence?
00:24To help Sara regain her confidence, you could start by having a gentle conversation with her. Let her know that it's completely normal to feel scared after getting hurt and remind her that everyone falls sometimes.
00:41Encourage her to take small steps like playing a simpler game where she feels safe. By showing her your support and understanding, you can help her feel more comfortable and ready to join in the fun again.
00:57Let us listen to a story revolving around the values like determination, knowledge, self-reliance, perseverance and wisdom.
01:07It was a hot and sunny day. The trees in the jungle looked dull. The leaves and grass had become dry. All the water in the river and the stream beds had dried up.
01:30All the animals sat under the trees, looking tired and thirsty. No one was talking as none of them had any energy left. A thirsty crow flew all over the jungle in search of water. There was not a drop of water available anywhere.
01:52He started to feel weak. Feeling giddy, he immediately perched on a tree in the field for some time. He searched the branches of the trees nearby for the juicy berries. All the berries had been eaten. His eyes roamed all over the ground for a sign of a green plant, so that he could get some moisture by chewing its juicy leaves.
02:22He saw a pitcher underneath a tree and a few wrappers. They were leftovers of a picnic. The crow's eyes widened as he flew towards the jar.
02:35Water at last!
02:39The crow smiled as he saw some water at the bottom of the jar. Sadly, the crow was unable to drink the water, as the pitcher had a narrow neck.
02:50If I tilt the jar, the little water inside will spill out.
02:58The crow groaned. He looked around, searching for some inspiration.
03:03He saw some stones nearby.
03:06He remembered the story he had heard in childhood.
03:10His ancestor, too, had found himself in a similar situation many, many years back.
03:16His thirsty ancestor had dropped stones into the water, until the level of the water had risen, and he could quench his thirst.
03:28I can't take a risk with my life.
03:32The crow muttered.
03:33Who knows what germs these stones carry?
03:38It will be very unhygienic to drop these stones into the jar, so that the water level rises.
03:48Now that I have found some water, I'll figure out a way to drink it.
03:54The crow looked around.
03:57He saw a cluster of ferns on the far right.
04:01He flew towards them.
04:04Plucking a long fern, he rolled it until it resembled a straw.
04:09He had seen the humans in the cities drinking through the straws.
04:15My straw is ready.
04:16The crow flew back to the pitcher, carrying the straw in his beak.
04:23Inserting the straw into the pitcher, he drank the water.
04:28The smart crow's self-confidence had helped him come up with a plan to quench his thirst.
