00:20Into the ropes. Dropkick. That's right on charge. Here's the cover. Did not hook the leg in a two count.
00:27Rolls him up!
00:29Rolls him up!
00:31Rolls him up!
00:36Today's program is brought to you by Nintendo.
00:56Now, you're playing with power.
00:59This is WCW Pro Chicago, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zabisco.
01:02And fans, this week on the program for the World TV title,
01:05you will see Arne Anderson take on the champion, the Z-Man.
01:08In addition, the Nature Boy Ric Flair in action this week.
01:11We understand El Gigante, who will be the guest on Sullivan Saloon,
01:14has made a challenge to the Nature Boy Ric Flair.
01:16Well, that's not the only challenge Ric Flair is going to be getting.
01:22In fact, I know how the man feels winning the heavyweight championship of the world, Tony.
01:26Sort of like you inherit a million bucks after you get a divorce.
01:30And fans, we're also going to have some news in the weeks to come
01:33about the retirement from professional wrestling of the legendary American Dream, Dusty Rose.
01:38And I tell you something, after retiring San Martino and Bockwinkle,
01:41Dusty Rose would have been a real nice notch on my belt.
01:44Speaking of notches, what a notch we had last week.
01:46We had a tremendous matchup, and Doom got involved with a horseman going up against
01:51Wildfire Tommy Rich and Ricky Morton.
01:53Here's what transpired, and then we'll take a look at Doom in action this week.
01:56DDT put Tommy Rich down.
02:03And Randy Anderson checking in.
02:07Now look at Teddy Long, Larry.
02:09What's he doing out here?
02:11Well, I'm not sure, Tony.
02:13Obviously, he's distracting Arne Anderson.
02:14Oh, Ron Simmons.
02:16From behind, Ron Simmons onto Arne Anderson, brutally attacking Arne.
02:21Look at this.
02:22Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is set for one fall.
02:28Introducing first, the manager.
02:30He's the godfather of soul, Mr. Theodore Arlong.
02:34He presents the 280 pounds, one out of the World Tag Team Champions of Doom,
02:39Ron Simmons.
02:44Hey, we own it all.
02:46The best wrestling manager they here in the World Tag Team Championship.
02:50Well, Larry, you see that award?
02:53That is the manager of the year.
02:56Well, you know, an achievement award won't buy you a cup of coffee,
02:58so I hope Teddy Long takes this into account.
03:00It doesn't get too big of a head.
03:03But, you know, I think something needs to be said here.
03:05Based on the comments that we've heard over the past couple of weeks,
03:08we're seeing Ron Simmons at singles competition.
03:11That just doesn't sit right with me.
03:12You know, Butch Reed should be here.
03:16What are you saying, Tony?
03:17Something may, I don't know, it just seems like something's wrong.
03:20Well, you know, I think you've been watching too much of this news covering the war
03:23where everybody exaggerates and grabs for straws.
03:26How about maybe Butch Reed's at the gym or taking a day off?
03:29Maybe the man's hurt.
03:31Yeah, more than likely knowing Butch Reed, knowing Teddy Long.
03:34Butch Reed's out in the yacht.
03:37Or is out having caviar somewhere.
03:39You know, they're living this.
03:40Butch Reed could be out in the yacht with a beautiful Death Mute having a good day.
03:43Take a look at Ron Simmons.
03:47What a tremendous athlete Ron Simmons is.
03:49There's a headbutt.
03:51We're going to be talking about our next great event coming to the UIC Pavilion
03:54right here in Chicago during the course of this.
03:57But Ron Simmons now right on the midsection.
04:01He is so powerful, Larry.
04:02Well, you've got to look at the man and know that, Tony.
04:04He puts a lot of time and a lot of effort into his physical well-being,
04:08which is, you know, one of the most important things in being a professional wrestler.
04:12So you have to be physical.
04:14And Ron Simmons is one of the toughest guys and most physical guys in this business.
04:19Double axe handle as Theodore on the side.
04:22Stretch around.
04:24Simmons.
04:26Pick up.
04:27Look at this.
04:28Look at this.
04:29Look at this raw power, Larry.
04:31Like carrying a baby through the store, Tony.
04:33It really is.
04:35Taking Rick Cannon.
04:36I think Rick Cannon's trying to tag, but there's nobody home.
04:39One, two, three.
04:41Nobody at all.
04:42The upper development of Ron Simmons.
04:44Four-time All-American.
04:46Heisman Trophy candidate when he was at Florida State.
04:50Hey, he's a natural athlete.
04:52He, you know, chose to make his, you know, a career in professional wrestling.
04:55And you can't get anything away from the man.
04:58He is a tough, tough competitor.
05:00Not to mention awesome looking.
05:02Tell you what, he would have made a great defensive lineman for the Bears.
05:06Don't you think so?
05:07Well, again, you're talking about football players, which to me is, you know, a bunch
05:11of guys trying to impress their daddies and run around in pads to protect themselves.
05:15Ron Simmons is now portraying really a real man, Tony.
05:19He doesn't wear pads.
05:20Look at the hole.
05:22Good.
05:23When men who are men and women were afraid to be.
05:26Three count and cannon's out.
05:27Letter of the match, one half of the world tag team champions of Doom, Ron Simmons.
05:32All right.
05:32And that's a very good point.
05:34Tony Gillum made one half of the world tag team champions.
05:36Wearing the world as his partner.
05:37Outliving the good life, maybe once again.
05:39Here's our Nintendo power play, Larry.
05:41Well, carrying the man around like a baby is an easy feat for Ron Simmons.
05:45He just dumped a damn boy.
05:46Can that knock the wind on you?
05:47Not to mention what Mr. Simmons is about to do right here.
05:51Ha!
05:52I love it.
05:55Playing with power.
05:56Boy, you're playing with fire, too, when you go up against Ron Simmons.
06:00Nintendo, now you're playing with power.
06:01Larry and I will be back with more.
06:04And here's some information about UIC Pavilion.

07:36Take a look at it.
07:38Now look at this, Larry Sabisco.
07:41Sid Vicious, who's going to be in that big six-man at the UIC Pavilion
07:44on February 22nd, is bringing the attendants out with him.
07:47They are no more minute attendants than I am.
07:49Larry's sort of planning ahead.
07:51Ow!
07:52Not wasting any time.
07:54You know, Sid Vicious could be the Sears power in disguise.
07:57It's your winner, big Sid Vicious.
08:00It was one move.
08:01It was the power bomb.
08:02Sid Vicious rules the world, as he says.
08:07Well, he sure took care of this match.
08:09That was no problem.
08:11The attendants now getting the man out of the ring.
08:14These geek doctors.
08:17Geek doctors.
08:18Geek doctors.
08:19Do you like that term?
08:20Look at this!
08:22Any injury that he sustained in the ring is going to be amplified.
08:26Now look at here!
08:29There's some guys who are trying now to take care of Sid Vicious.
08:36I tell you, Sid's got the right name.
08:38You're going to have to send in an army to stop this man, Tony.
08:41He's just an unbelievable, unbelievable human being.
08:44And he doesn't care.
08:46No, he doesn't.
08:47Something has to be done to stop him.
08:48Look at this.
08:49It's like an automobile accident.
08:51Bodies all over the road.
08:54Sid Vicious, your winner.
08:55Here, fans, we've got Sullivan Saloon coming up next.
09:02Welcome to Sullivan Saloon, and we're open for business.
09:05And today, I have a very special guest.
09:08None other than the newest sensation at World Championship Wrestling, El Agante.
09:14El, let me ask you something like I usually ask the fabulous babes to come in here and visit me every night.
09:20What are your dimensions?
09:23Whoa!
09:237'7", 450 pounds, 74 inches, 24, um, what more?
09:34You're 7'7", 450 pounds.
09:38That's me.
09:39That's you, I guess.
09:40So why don't you sit down, please?
09:42Let me ask you something, El Agante.
09:46Where are you from?
09:47Argentina.
09:48Argentina.
09:48Well, they must grow them big in Argentina.
09:51Let me ask you something.
09:53What do you want out of professional wrestling?
09:57What do you think?
09:58I want a belt.
09:59You want a belt?
10:00Here, have one of these.
10:01What do you want, Scott?
10:02Ric Flair's belt.
10:06You want Ric Flair's belt?
10:09Yes.
10:10You want to challenge the greatest heavyweight champion of all times?
10:13Yes, yes.
10:14You've been undefeated.
10:16No one's been able to stop you.
10:17You know, that's an interesting matchup anywhere in the country.
10:23The size of your hands.
10:24Listen, a good friend of mine, Walt Bellamy, played for the Chicago Bulls, gave me this fastball.
10:29Can I see the size of your hands?
10:34If you put that hand around somebody's head...
10:38Well...
10:38Well, what?
10:40Hey, let me tell you something.
10:42Ric Flair's the greatest heavyweight champion of all...
10:44Well, you know, you're probably the number one contender and...
10:47Hey, my money's on you.
10:48Yeah, let's get in a jovial mood.
10:50Usually when I close the show here, I sing.
10:52You want to try singing with me?
10:54Come on, come on.
10:56Okay.
11:01You better stick to wrestling and you better stick to trying to get a match with Ric Flair.
11:04It's closing time and you're out of here, big boy.
11:10He's lucky I didn't lose my temper.
11:12I was ready to jump over the bar and get at him.
11:14Listen, I can't wait to see a match like that myself.
11:17So, it's closing time and everybody's out of here.
11:20Tor-a-lore-a-lore-a-lore-a-lore-a-lore-a-lore.
11:26That's it, I can't believe it.
11:28Tor-a-lore-a-lore.
11:30That's 310 pounds from North Carolina to JYD.
11:35Took your dog.
11:38In the ring is the putter from Chicago, Illinois, Tumper.
11:41Well, we know Kevin can't sing.
11:45Can't even come close.
11:46I should have told you that.
11:48The junkyard dog.
11:49Kevin Sullivan talking about 7'7", El Ligante.
11:52He says he wants Ric Flair's belt.
11:54He's going to get a chance to get it in Chicago at the UIC Pavilion on Friday, February 22nd.
12:01He's made the claim.
12:02We've got the world champion still to come on this program this week.
12:07Well, you know it's going to be a wild night in Chicago.
12:09I tell you, El Gigantos, whatever, I mean, I would be in the front row of Gringside to see him wrestle with the player.
12:19Yeah, I'm sure there's going to be lots of people there.
12:22Our promoter, Gary Jester, up in Chicago doing a fantastic job.
12:25One of our biggest events ever.
12:27Friday, February 22nd, 8 o'clock, right here at the UIC.
12:30The junkyard dog.
12:32You're talking about a lot of power.
12:33The big thump is very powerful.
12:36There's the big thump.
12:37One, two, three.
12:38You know, the junkyard dog, very smooth individually.
12:40Here is your winner, the junkyard dog.
12:43Junkyard dog with the big thump.
12:45Put the man right to the mat with an impressive win on WCW Pro Chicago.
12:51As we take a look at Burke, let's take a look one more time, Larry.
12:54Well, you know, Tom Burke here had about as much chance against the junkyard dog as Arnold Schwarzenegger has when he attempts to speak.
13:00Boom, right there, all the way crashing down.
13:03There goes the wind.
13:04And an easy one, two, three.
13:07An easy one, two, three.
13:08Still to come, our look at the world television title situation.
13:12Stay right with us.
13:13World Championship Wrestling UIC Pavilion, Chicago.
13:22Friday, February 22nd, fans.
13:25Action starts at 8 o'clock.
13:26A great night.
13:27Seven exciting matches, including the championship of the world in Chicago.
13:32With Ric Flair clashes with 7'7", El Gigante.
13:36Plus, these matches in a challenge match, Ryan Ryan will be in the air at the UIC Pavilion against Terry Taylor.
13:44Rick and Scott Steiner team up with Hustler's Z-Man in a six-man tag against Sid Vicious, Barry Windham, and the Lariat Hansel.
13:54TV title, one fall, 15-minute time limit.
13:59Arn Anderson takes on beautiful Bobby Eaton.
14:02The world tag team titles are on the line at 22nd, when Doom, managed by Petty Long, clashed with the total package.
14:09Lex Luger and his partner, Sting, and the world title, Ric Flair against El Gigante.
14:14Friday the 22nd at 8, UIC Pavilion, Chicago.
14:32Okay, Larry, now we're going to take a look at footage.
14:36Arn Anderson and the Z-Man world television title.
14:39It's the rematch because in December, Z-Man defeated Arn Anderson for that world TV strap.
14:43You know, this is a real prestigious championship that goes nationwide and seen by millions and millions.
14:49And you can bet your poke that Arn Anderson is going to do everything he can to win it back.
14:54And he will certainly attempt to do that.
14:57The Z-Man, the world television champion, he's been on such a hot streak.
15:00Defending the belt against the former champion, Arn Anderson.
15:04Introducing first from Minnesota, weighing 248 pounds, the enforcer, Arn Anderson.
15:14All right, world TV title match.
15:19Challenger Arn Anderson, former champion.
15:22Now we're awaiting the arrival of the announcement of the world TV champion.
15:28Here we go.
15:30And ladies and gentlemen, his opponent from Minneapolis, Minnesota, weighing 251 pounds.
15:37He is the world television champion, the Z-Man.
15:48All right, the Z-Man and Arn Anderson for the world TV title.
15:50Kevin, what do you look for here in this match?
15:52I look for, first of all, a classic confrontation.
15:55Arn Anderson, former champion.
15:58The Z-Man, the champion.
16:00He's held it as prestigiously.
16:02Both of them have.
16:03I'm looking for the first guy that makes a mistake.
16:06The match is over.
16:07It's not the point.
16:07All right, let's see what happens.
16:09Let's see who can make.
16:11Tonight, the belt comes home, Daddy.
16:14Take it to the bank.
16:14There's no lack of confidence in the Anderson corner, is there?
16:22Certainly isn't.
16:23And he shouldn't have any lack of confidence.
16:25He's former TV champion, former World Cup team champion, and a great wrestler.
16:31Well, Arn Anderson's going to make sure he makes no mistakes.
16:34Right now, Arn Anderson is setting the pace.
16:41That's exactly what the Z-Man doesn't want Arn Anderson to do, is set this pace.
16:48Anderson, same counter move.
16:51Same tactic by Arn Anderson, complaining about the hair.
16:57Exactly what he's done.
16:58He's set the pace.
16:59He's dictating the pace now.
17:01Zink needs to break this pace.
17:03Zink needs to speed it up.
17:05That's Zink's strong point.
17:07Well, I think that's a good point.
17:08What you're saying is that Z-Man should stay with it.
17:12In other words, when Arn's doing the complaining, jump right in and stay on the offense.
17:16Exactly.
17:16He should be on him like a hungry dog on a bone.
17:19But the Z-Man right now is allowing Arn Anderson to do the complaining,
17:22and that is giving Arn Anderson ample opportunity for strategy here.
17:28And the Z-Man has followed into Patton.
17:30He's going to Arn Anderson's strong point.
17:34He's taking him to mat wrestling.
17:36He wants to get up in the air and stay off the mat.
17:38The longer this stays off on the mat, Tony, the stronger Anderson's going to become.
17:42All right.
17:43Let's see.
17:44They're on the mat right now, so to speak.
17:45One knee each man, and with that side headlock, the Z-Man gets pushed to the ropes.
17:51Here we go for the ropes.
17:53Great tackle by the Z-Man, showing a lot of power that time.
17:57And Anderson, I think that really has him confused right there.
18:01They might have him confused, but I believe that Arn Anderson, again, is breaking the pace.
18:07He's dictating the pace of the match.
18:09Z-Man needs to be doing what he does best, and that is getting up in the air.
18:15Anderson slowly taking his time here, making sure the Z-Man is right with him.
18:21And he's doing a tremendous job, as you've said, Kevin, to dictate the early pace of this match.
18:25Z-Man counters with the arm.
18:29Takes him off the mat, goes right to the arm, and Arn Anderson on the outside.
18:33Great move by Z-Man. I'm not taking anything away from him.
18:39He doesn't want his pace to continue, though.
18:42He needs to speed this up.
18:44The longer it lasts, that is Arn Anderson's strong point.
18:47As the match develops deeper into the match, the stronger Arn Anderson gets, Tony.
18:53Anderson wasting a tremendous amount of time on the outside.
18:58And now, the call of the referee, Randy Anderson, and Arn's back in.
19:06Z-Man has the fans behind him. There's no question about that.
19:10He might have the fans behind him, Tony, but this is a championship match, and this is like the NFL.
19:16The teams that have been there before, they're confident.
19:19As the match gets stronger, Anderson's going to get confident.
19:22All right, let's see what happens.
19:24It certainly was a big show of confidence from Arn Anderson to begin with.
19:28And Anderson shoots him on the outside.
19:30Well, Z-Man landed on his feet.
19:32Now, take him out there with him.
19:35It's back-firing on the enforcer, Arn Anderson.
19:38That would hurt your knees.
19:49Yeah, that's painful, and you can see that Arn Anderson's in a lot of pain.
19:53But the Z-Man's letting him get up.
19:56Waiting on him.
19:57Side hitlock takedown, and he goes right to the mat.
20:00Arn Anderson grabs a handful of trucks.
20:02Hey, Kevin, you...
20:03Well, a second time now.
20:04You said once before, if he wrestles him on the mat, he's wrestling right into his arms here.
20:09He certainly is, Tony.
20:10It's like trying to pass defense in Joe Montana's territory.
20:17It's very hard to defend against Joe Montana's passes.
20:20This is what Z-Man needs to do, is get up off the mat.
20:23Z-Man, you need to get up off the mat.
20:25You need to give him a tackle.
20:26You need to give him a drive kick.
20:27You need to give him a flying hitches.
20:29You don't want to fall on this guy's back yet.
20:31And after that show of force, I guess is the best way to put it, on the outside,
20:38with Arn Anderson and the legs wrapped around the ring post,
20:41Z-Man is taking him right down to the mat.
20:43Now, Anderson, back up.
20:45Drops down.
20:47And measures him for a forearm right to the midsection.
20:51You know, Tony, I saw a match last year, last week of here on your program,
20:55where Arn Anderson was against beautiful Bobby.
20:58And as the match got deeper into the match, Arn Anderson got stronger.
21:03Watch out.
21:04We've got a figure four leg lock.
21:07Come on, Coach.
21:13And it could be the end of it.
21:14One, two, and a two count.
21:16Very close.
21:18This is the first time we've had anything really close, Tony.
21:21Arn needs to get to the ropes desperately, and the loose looks like he's got it.
21:24It was really close, and Anderson finds his escape into the ropes,
21:30and the Z-Man's staying on him now.
21:32Great move.
21:32That's what he should have been doing five minutes ago.
21:35Drop kick.
21:37Anderson kicks away with a Z-Man staying right there,
21:40rolls him up.
21:41He's on the mat with him.
21:42Two count, but he still puts the pressure on.
21:45Now we're seeing why the Z-Man has been the champion, is the champion.
21:50Time, body press.
21:51Anderson.
21:53Wait a second.
21:54Wait a second.
21:54I never saw it.
21:55What happened?
21:57He pinned me.
21:58Oh, ladies and gentlemen, the winner,
22:00a new world television champion.
22:02I can't believe it.
22:04Arn Anderson.
22:05I thought they were tied up in the ropes that time,
22:11but the count went down.
22:13Tony Schiavone, here he goes.
22:15He's got Arn Anderson, shoots him off.
22:20Drop kick.
22:21That's what he should have been doing five minutes early into the match.
22:24Now we have a shoot Tom Zink off.
22:26Goes for the punch.
22:27Zink dugs the punch.
22:30Comes off.
22:31Flying body press.
22:33Arn Anderson rolls through and his feet are on the ropes, Tony.
22:36They're on the ropes.
22:37They're on the ropes.
22:38But he gets the pair.
22:40Hey, like I said before,
22:42a win by any other name is still a win, Tony.
22:45Terrific, Arn.
22:46Mike, congratulations.
22:48Arn Anderson becomes, once again, the world television champion.
22:51Very questionable there.
22:53Again, once again, Arn Anderson's foot was on the ropes,
22:55but he is a champion once again.
22:57You know, let me give Arn Anderson a hand for a well-deserved match.
23:01The beating of the Z-Man kind of brings me a question.
23:04My name's Zbysko.
23:05If I beat the Z-Man, does that mean I'm the new Z-Man?
23:09You'll be the champion of the Zs.
23:10Congratulations to Arn Anderson, just to say.
23:12All right, fans, more action on WCW Pro Chicago right after this.
23:15Time out.
23:16Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is set for one fall.
23:22Introducing first, from Jacksonville, Florida, at 242 pounds,
23:28he's an ain't-your-boy, Buddy Landell.
23:38Buddy Landell set to go against the Stinger,
23:40and you're going to hear a tremendous eruption, and here we go.
23:44His opponent is from Venice Beach, California.
23:47He weighs in at 250 pounds.
23:50America, this is Sting!
23:55It'll be Sting and Lex Luger
23:57after the World Tag Title and Doom at the UIC,
24:01right here in Chicago on Friday, February 22nd, 8 o'clock.
24:05And I know you're pitching into your seat over there, Larry,
24:08and I know why it's because you're going to be on that guard.
24:10It's your big return to Chicago.
24:13Well, I decided to cut the people a break.
24:15Actually, I'm kind of fidgeting
24:16because here we have Sting,
24:18former heavyweight champion of the world,
24:21and, in my opinion, maybe the luckiest man of 1990.
24:24Oh, Larry, for goodness sakes.
24:25There he goes.
24:26Oh, oh, man, into that one.
24:29Stood him up straight with that elbow.
24:31Landell, great sense of timing.
24:33He's a great professional, and there is...
24:35Look at this.
24:36Sting didn't feel the vertical suplet.
24:37Oh, you can't take nothing away from Sting.
24:43He's quick.
24:44He's on the ball,
24:45and I'm sure after losing the heavyweight championship,
24:48the man is hungrier than ever.
24:49What a hip-hop.
24:51Landell in trouble.
24:51He comes up, and he goes back down again.
24:56Landell and Stinger on the outside.
24:58Sting with all that charisma,
25:00all the fan support behind him.
25:02I know you don't necessarily relish that,
25:05but Sting sends him in high back body drop.
25:07Great execution, too, Larry.
25:08Well, fan support or fan dislike means absolutely nothing
25:11in terms of winning or losing a wrestling match.
25:14Uh-oh.
25:15Down goes Landell.
25:24And the Stinger wraps him in under the splash
25:27for the Scorpion Death Lock.
25:29He's got him hooked, Tony.
25:30Boy, it doesn't take long, Larry.
25:32Here is your winner, Sting!
25:37Gets him fired up, doesn't he?
25:38The Stinger with a big win over Buddy Landell.
25:41He's never looked better as Sting.
25:43He looks really sharp,
25:44and I'm sure that he's real hungry
25:45after losing the belt to Ric Flair.
25:48Boom, in comes Sting here,
25:49and if you notice, they call it the Stinger.
25:52What do they call it?
25:52Stinger Splash.
25:53Stinger Splash.
25:56Scorpion Death Lock.
25:57He puts it right on, doesn't he?
25:58Well, the Scorpion Death Lock,
25:59fancy name for a reverse.
26:01Figure four leg lock, actually.
26:03A back breaker, but boy,
26:06Sting sure hooked him good.
26:07Once you get this hold hooked on,
26:09absolutely nothing you're going to really do about it.
26:11You've got to get out of this hold
26:12before he gets unlocked right there.
26:15But Buddy Landell could not.
26:17The world champion, Ric Flair, is next.
26:26All right, there he is,
26:27the world champion, Ric Flair,
26:29in all his glory.
26:30Now, Lance Russell, our colleague, Larry,
26:32is standing by.
26:33As you know, we've just seen Sullivan Saloon,
26:36and the comments from Elie Gante,
26:38we understand that the interpreter for Elie Gante
26:41is down at ringside with Lance Russell.
26:43Well, obviously, you know,
26:44El Gigantos, whatever his name is,
26:46is after this man right here,
26:48who is one of the greatest of all time,
26:50seven-time heavyweight champion of the world.
26:53You're right, Larry.
26:55There he is in all his glory,
26:57the nature boy, Ric Flair.
26:59As you said seven times,
27:00he has had the world title.
27:02They love the horsemen.
27:03Right now, though, standing by,
27:04at ringside, is Lance Russell.
27:07What do we really want to do,
27:08standing here with David Sierra?
27:10It's not that I don't trust,
27:12but I don't trust Sully's interpretation of it.
27:15The conversation that we heard about Elie Gante
27:18and some comments to Ric Flair.
27:20David, what we would like to do
27:22is get your comments and get everything straight.
27:24You're the interpreter.
27:25As Elie Gante's interpreter,
27:27as his friend,
27:30Elie Gante, seven-foot-seven,
27:32the biggest athlete in the world today,
27:36it's only natural
27:39that he wants to become
27:42the next world heavyweight champion.
27:46And he is at challenge record.
27:49Whoa, look at that.
27:49Here he comes right down here.
27:51Uh-oh, uh-oh, hey.
27:54Well, there he is, Larry.
27:56Where's this guy from?
27:58Argentina.
27:59My God, Tony, this guy falls down.
28:01He'll be home.
28:01We want to get a conference.
28:02You're wanting to get in the ring here
28:04with Ric Flair.
28:06Look, I want the bill.
28:10Your bill.
28:19If you want my belt, big man,
28:23you better remember one thing.
28:26Don't ever let that big mouth of yours
28:28overload your ass, pal.
28:32Uh-oh.
28:33You know, Flair's got a point there.
28:35By what right does this man have to come to you?
28:36Oh, my God!
28:38He slaps him!
28:39Oh, I don't blame him!
28:41And he rips off the shirt!
28:45Okay, the Miz has no right to come down
28:47and challenge the heavyweight champion of the world.
28:49Prove yourself, what I say.
28:58He's not feeling those gloves!
29:00Oh, and he puts a big hand!
29:05Oh, that's a chokehold right there!
29:07That's what it is!
29:08He's got no business in there in the first place.
29:09I'm going to come in and choke Ric Flair.
29:11So the man should be taken out of there right now, Tony.
29:14This is really disgusting.
29:15Look at this!
29:16The big hand that we saw at Sullivan Saloon
29:19around the throat of Ric Flair,
29:21and he's not letting go!
29:22Oh, man, I don't know who this pussy
29:23has got the right to come in here and talk to him.
29:25Now the troops are in!
29:27Settle down, Larry.
29:28The troops are in.
29:29I know you're upset, but look at here.
29:31It's right on the throat of Ric Flair,
29:33Tim Horner,
29:34Brad Armstrong!
29:38All are in!
29:40Come on, get the hand off for Pete's sake!
29:42Here comes Wyndham and Anderson!
29:44There's a horseman in there!
29:46He's not letting go!
29:48He wants the belts!
29:51And he's made his presence known!
29:53This is the most disgusting thing I've seen in a long time.
29:55This puck doesn't even have the right to be in there with Ric Flair,
29:59let alone choke the man!
30:01Incredible!
30:02More to count!
30:03Stay with us!
30:03It's on Channel 9!
30:07World Championship Wrestling UIC Pavilion, Chicago.
30:10Friday, February 22nd, fans.
30:13Action starts at 8 o'clock.
30:14A great night.
30:15Seven exciting matches,
30:16including the Championship of the World in Chicago,
30:20when Ric Flair clashes with 7'7", El Gigante.
30:25Plus these matches in a challenge match.
30:27Ryan Ryan will be in the air at the UIC Pavilion
30:30against Terry Taylor.
30:32Rick and Scott Steiner team up with the popular Z-Man in a six-man tag against Sid Vicious.
30:39Barry Windham, and the Lariat Hansel.
30:43TV title, one fall, 15-minute time limit.
30:47Arn Anderson takes on beautiful Bobby Eaton.
30:50The World Tag Team titles are on the line at 22nd.
30:53When Doom, managed by Penny Long,
30:55clash with the total package.
30:57Lex Luger and his partner, Sting, and the World Title.
31:00Rick Flair against El Gigante.
31:02Friday the 22nd at 8, UIC Pavilion, Chicago.
31:06Today's program has been brought to you by Skittles, bite-sized candies.
31:24Now in new wild berry, tart and tangy, and tropical.
31:27I tell you, fans, incredible turn of events right here.
31:32What about the big man, 7'7", El Gigante with his hand around the throat of Ric Flair?
31:37You know something, Tony?
31:38It was one of the biggest atrocities to justice I've seen in my life.
31:42What right does this El Gigante have to come out and even talk to Ric Flair in the first place?
31:47This guy is tall, but that's all.
31:50El Giganto, whatever his name is, he should come out and kiss Ric Flair's boots.
31:54And he has the audacity to choke the heavyweight champion of the world.
31:58How long should this man be banned?
32:00I think it is a disgrace to the sport of professional wrestling.
32:04Just a disgrace to the sport.
32:06We're going to take a look at the situation.
32:08We're going to take a look at the situation once again.
32:10The fans are in uproar here, as you can well tell, because of what it transpired.
32:14If I was Ric Flair, I wouldn't give this man the time of day he doesn't deserve a title shot.
32:17He's got a lot to prove.
32:19Many people may agree with that, but he is the biggest athlete in sports today.
32:23And we'll touch on that situation a little bit later on.
32:25Right now, let's go back to the ring for the six-man tag team match.
32:30Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is set for one fall.
32:33It is a special six-man tag team event.
32:37Introducing first team number one.
32:38First from New Orleans, Florida at 235 pounds, Terry Taylor.
32:45It's time for Morristown, Tennessee, 231.
32:48White Lightning, Tim Harner.
32:49And from Marietta, Georgia, at 239 pounds, Ferran Armstrong.
32:56Across the ring, our pull-up from Seymour, Indiana, Rip Rogers.
33:02His partner from Detroit, Michigan, at 320 pounds, Master Blaster, Ned.
33:08And from Trenton, Georgia, Pat Rose.
33:11Big guy, the Master Blasters, the Master Blaster, as we've been calling him lately.
33:17And the very sick Rip Rogers and Pat Rose against what should be a great trio here.
33:24Look at Rip running his big match.
33:26Get that time out of my face before I knock you out, Jackie.
33:28Get it out of my face.
33:30Get it out of my face.
33:31You better pay attention to his opponents, I can tell you that.
33:33He doesn't want it in his face.
33:36I'll tell you, Tony, I like six-man tags.
33:38I'm not too keen on tag team matches for myself, but I like to watch them because it's action.
33:43You get a real, real chess game kind of thing going.
33:46And all the different type of personalities mingle or don't mingle.
33:52Tell you what, I know we've just seen once again, Larry, we talked about it.
33:56We saw what happened to Flair.
33:57We've replayed it for him.
33:58But it's still on my mind right now.
34:01Ric Flair and El Eagante in the main event at the UIC Pavilion.
34:05El Eagante's big hand has to be considered one of the biggest forces in World Championship Wrestling right now.
34:10Well, you can't take that away.
34:11I mean, the man is a legitimate giant.
34:13He's an athlete.
34:14He's a man.
34:15Whoa, that is a dangerous combination.
34:18I'm going to be front row after I make short work with my opponent in Chicago.
34:22Believe me, I'm not going to miss this one.
34:23Right to the arm has listed here that your opponent is Terry Taylor.
34:31Well, that's what's currently listed.
34:33Many men have chickened out in the light of seeing my name across the contract.
34:38Jim Horner bouncing up a couple of times as Rogers tries to take him down by the hair from behind.
34:43Boy, Horner is really quick, isn't he?
34:45Good speed.
34:46I tell you, Jim Horner is a good ring veteran.
34:48Keeps himself in good shape very fast like a cat.
34:51What's the heart?
34:52It's like everybody on that team is like a cat.
34:55Brad Armstrong, super athlete.
34:57Terry Taylor, seasoned veteran.
35:01We'll find out how much guts he has in Chicago.
35:03I guess we will.
35:04Well, here's a tag and Taylor pulling right on the arm now.
35:11Again, hair takedown.
35:14A tag and Pat Rose is in.
35:18Taylor tries to send him down, but Rose wouldn't go with him.
35:22Rose held his position right there.
35:24Pat Rose leveling.
35:26Taylor reverso into the corner.
35:28No.
35:29Taylor stopped though.
35:30Taylor was quick.
35:31Oh, good.
35:32Dropped it.
35:34And Taylor on drags him down.
35:35Tremendous six-man so far here on the Pro.
35:38It's going to be interesting to see if both of these teams can keep up with their strategy.
35:42Like I said, those personalities, sometimes they mingle and sometimes they don't.
35:47But again, any tag team, whether four-man, six-man, I think the secret is tag in, tag out,
35:53while you keep your opponent in the ring.
35:55You don't want your opponent to tag in and tag out.
35:57We appreciate Lance Russell's help on getting the interview from the interpreter for El Higante
36:02and trying to get in there with El Higante as Brad Armstrong has a good takedown of Pat
36:06Rose.
36:07Although, you know, Lance has a tendency to forget our names sometimes, Larry.
36:10You have to sit him straight.
36:11I never even think about Lance whatsoever.
36:13There's an arm bar and right back now to the neutral corner.
36:24Rose has been very impressive so far, doing the right thing, and that's to keep Tim Horner
36:28pinned up here, Larry.
36:29Yeah, well, you know, Rose and his team are going to try to do the same thing as Horner
36:33and their team's going to do.
36:34Good.
36:35Boy, he's good, isn't he?
36:36And again, Tim Horner.
36:38Horner is very good.
36:40You know, both teams are going to have the same strategy.
36:41You can keep the man in the ring while they tag it out.
36:45If you just joined us, fans, you have missed a dandy of a program here this week.
36:49We have seen, as we take a look at another big guy, the Master Blaster, you have seen
36:55or we have seen here as Horner quickly ducks out of the way, El Higante, who will be in
37:01the main event against Ric Flair at the UIC Pavilion, put a chokehold on Flair to where
37:06the horsemen to come in and help the world champion out.
37:08We understand the paramedics are back right now, attending to the world champion.
37:12As I said, the most disgusting thing I ever saw was this punk, El Gigantos, come out.
37:16Number one, it's got no business to even confront a man like Ric Flair and he's grouped himself.
37:21Look at this.
37:22Catch him, catches him in midair.
37:24And the backbreaker on Tim Horner.
37:26That'll slow you down.
37:27Yeah, it will.
37:27You know, right now, classic, the brawn versus the science right now.
37:31Tim Horner, very scientific, Master Blaster, very strong.
37:35Boom.
37:37And a chokehold put right on the throat of Tim Horner.
37:41The Master Blaster tags in the very vocal, very obnoxious Rip Rogers, who goes right to
37:47the chest of Horner and now will shoot him in.
37:49Over the top, Rogers goes right to the head.
37:53Great maneuver that time.
37:55And here comes Pat Rose.
37:56Great teamwork on this side here.
37:58Yeah, both teams are trying to get that good teamwork going.
38:02Pat Rose, Mr. Rogers there was very good.
38:05Good small package, didn't have quite a hook.
38:08And here comes Brad Armstrong.
38:11Brad, great second generation wrestler.
38:14We've said it so many times, but he is truly one of the better second generation wrestlers
38:18you'll find.
38:18He and Barry Windham both into that category.
38:22And there's a shoulder block right to the midsection.
38:27And out to the hip toss and right arm shrunk again.
38:32Well, they are one step ahead of Rogers and Rose and the Master Blaster here.
38:35It's interesting here because both teams are trying to do what the other team is trying
38:39to do.
38:39That is tagging it out and keep the other member in there.
38:42Hard slam down.
38:47Taylor coming in.
38:48Boy, what a very, very...
38:51A bit of stretching the rules right there, Tony.
38:53I was getting ready to say.
38:54Kind of stretching the rules there just a little bit.
38:56You better watch out for that one in Chicago, Larry.
38:59I've already got it logged.
39:00I already know how to beat Terry Taylor.
39:02You do?
39:03Of course I do.
39:05Up top, over the top with a vertical suplex.
39:09Horner cannot get the pin.
39:11He gets a two count though.
39:12He hooked the leg.
39:12Oh, wow.
39:14Taylor.
39:16And Rip Rogers like a pinball now being bounced around the different sides.
39:23Rip Rogers, of course, better make a plan of attack to get out of there.
39:27Since Brad and Brad now.
39:32Tremendous six-man here on the Pro this week.
39:35All of our great fans in Chicago look forward to seeing you on the 22nd of February.
39:408 o'clock.
39:40It's a Friday night.
39:41Larry Zabisco will be back in action.
39:43Ric Flair and Eligante.
39:44World title.
39:45Lex Luger and Sting against Doom for the world tag title.
39:47Beautiful Bobby and Arn Anderson.
39:48A big six-man with the Steiners and the Z-man against Sid Vicious, Barry Windham, and Stan Hansen.
39:53What a match that's going to be.
39:54I tell you, Chicago is in for a real treat because the whole card is fantastic from the bottom to the very top.
40:01Boom.
40:01Down goes Brad.
40:03Freebirds will be there.
40:04Larry Zabisco, as we said, flying Brian.
40:06Terry Taylor and many others.
40:07And a big master blaster in against Terry Taylor.
40:10Taylor giving it his all, but he's not going to win a physical match with the master blaster.
40:15No, you've got to attack this difference.
40:17Oh!
40:19A little weakness there I should note on Terry Taylor.
40:22Why do you say that?
40:23Pick up!
40:25This is the master blaster so much bigger and stronger there.
40:27Terry trying to attack him at his strength right there.
40:30Bigger and stronger, but I'll tell you right now, science and knowledge will beat, you know, just strength any day that we can leave me.
40:38I've done it when I retired Sam Martino, when I retired Nick Bockwinkle,
40:41and my reputation of role is going to have Terry Taylor shaking in his boots in Chicago.
40:48Elbow right to the chest.
40:49Here's the cover.
40:52Almost got a three cap.
40:53Rose almost had it.
40:55Taylor slipped out of it.
40:55Listen to the fans.
40:56They want Taylor to make a tag here.
40:58They're right behind Taylor.
41:00Armstrong and Horner.
41:02Yes!
41:02Rose with great execution.
41:04Gets a two.
41:05Get a hook that hold on the man and keep it.
41:07That's a tag out.
41:08They've got to maintain this plan.
41:11Keep Taylor in there.
41:12They've got him down.
41:15Rip Rogers.
41:17Rip Rogers calling for the Bigfoot.
41:19He's got it.
41:20Teamwork.
41:21Head first to the Bigfoot.
41:24It's hard to stay pretty as a professional wrestler, Tony.
41:27Boy, you could say that again.
41:29Right to the midsection.
41:33Into the ropes.
41:35Rose telegraphed it.
41:37And Taylor with great sense of timing there.
41:41A lot of quickness.
41:42Looks and tags Brad Armstrong.
41:43They're going for the win here, Tony.
41:45Instead of keeping that man down, working a hold, wearing him down, not letting him tag.
41:49Brad Armstrong's in there and he's fresh.
41:53Knee lift.
41:54We get a one count.
41:55And now to the other side.
42:00Great drop kick.
42:01We've got a one.
42:02Rip Rogers makes a save.
42:06Pat Rose better hightail it out of there because he's got the win knocked out of him there.
42:12Blocks it.
42:12Right hand.
42:14Again.
42:14A little possum playing by Brad there.
42:16That's where that veteran hood comes in.
42:18High back body drop.
42:20Covers Rip Rogers.
42:21We get a save.
42:26Did he get him?
42:27I don't think.
42:27I think the bell sounded inadvertently right there.
42:29Who rang the bell?
42:30I don't know.
42:31Pick up.
42:32Over the top.
42:33And the Russian legs sweep.
42:36You're going to hear the bell now.
42:38He got him.
42:39Here are your winners.
42:42Terry Taylor, Brad Armstrong, and White Lightning, Tim Horner.
42:49Just a tremendous program this week right here on WGA.
42:52I want to remind you, first of all, to join us once again same time next week as we will
42:56have the new world television champion, Arne Anderson, defend against beautiful Bobby.
43:00That'll be one-on-one.
43:01What a tremendous matchup that'll be.
43:02But what's still on our mind is what happened earlier on when Elie Gante was choking down
43:06the nature boy, Ric Flair.
43:07They had to pull off that gigantic hand from the throat of the world champion.
43:11You know what?
43:11I think that's the problem that the whole world is suffering from as I think about it,
43:15Giovanni, is that this whole young generation of robotized sheep has no respect for authority
43:22whatsoever.
43:23If this guy came to Larry Land and tried that, I could guarantee you that he'd be about three
43:27feet tall.
43:28And I know in my heart, with all due respect to Ric Flair, that I'm sure Ric Flair could
43:33do the same damage to this man I did.
43:35And the lack of respect for men who have achieved greatness is just, to me, the most appalling
43:40thing I've seen in the last few weeks.
43:43Well, it was Ric Flair who slapped the man in the face.
43:45He deserves a slap in the face.
43:47We're going to take a look at what happened once again.
43:49It's some startling footage of Ric Flair being choked by Elie Gante.
43:52See you next week, fans.
