In October 1960, the IBC was officially dissolved.The Kefauver Commission  investigated organized crime in boxing in 1960. It was revealed that the IBC had ties to Mafia figures, including Frankie Carbo and Blinky  <br />Carmen Basilio, a former champion, testified that mobsters controlled title shots and fighters had to pay off organized crime to get opportunities. Floyd Patterson was the next title holder with mob ties and basically fought stiffs to keep teh money flowing. Liston another mob controlled fighter had to get all new but really mob controlled people to get a title shot. Liston got the title and the mob was still there but seeing and knowing their time was up. Clay figured after a few fights that acting like Gorgeous george of wrestling would sell tickets. He adopted that persona and the boxing powers knew this was their cash cow. Clay was fed a steady diet of people with losing streaks already and one or two guys on their way up. After being given a decision on a fight he lost Doug Jones and then Angelo Dundee cheating <br /><br />
