00:00This was what it meant to Paris Saint-Germain fans to win the Champions League.
00:10But what was meant to be a night of celebration instead turned to this.
00:18Thousands of fans rushed the streets, disorder underway.
00:25Fireworks were set off.
00:27Flares lit within the crowds.
00:35Line bikes used as fuel for fires.
00:39Amidst the growing violence across France, two people died.
00:44And nearly 200 were injured, including this man's wife and child.
00:52We just left the hospital so I could go home because we've been there since last night.
00:57They both just woke up.
00:58My son is still in an induced coma in intensive care.
01:03As cars were brought to a standstill, some shot fireworks at retreating police.
01:08Puddled officers clearly outnumbered.
01:20As I speak to you, there are around 30 police officers who are injured, some of them seriously.
01:24I'm thinking of the police officer in north-west France who's in a coma after being hit by a firework which was aimed at him.
01:33But with over 5,000 officers in attendance, members of the French press question the police planning.
01:40We've seen this numerous times now in Paris and the police say they can't but I do remember that during the Olympic Games it was absolutely impossible to do this because the police protection was much higher.
01:53I know that it's expensive to do this but it's probably much more expensive to pay for the damage that has been done.
02:02And the damage is clear. This white Mercedes just won of the nearly 700 fires across the country.
02:09But within 24 hours, order appears to have been restored in the French capital.
02:17PSG's Paris parade overseen by police and the military.
02:23Calm, finally, after the chaos.
