00:00Let's just remind you of what we've been seeing in Berlin.
00:03President Zelensky is there for the first time since Friedrich Merz became Germany's new Chancellor.
00:09They've just had a press conference which we kept across.
00:11They talked about how focusing on further peace talks with Russia was part of their agenda,
00:18new sanctions against Moscow as well.
00:21And also talk about endorsing Ukraine's right to conduct long-range missile strikes into Russian territory.
00:27That would align Germany with other Western allies.
00:30But we were looking for some clarification around Germany's Taurus missiles.
00:35Mikey is still with me.
00:37We heard from Chancellor Merz.
00:39He said, we are financing Ukrainian-made long-range missiles with no range limits, Mikey.
00:44So that suggests that it's not going to be, they're not going to just hand over these Taurus missiles.
00:49Yeah, there's a lot of sensitivity surrounding that.
00:52Zelensky does have a deep strike capability.
00:54He's got drones that have been conducting deep strikes for a while now.
00:59He's also got something called Long Neptune.
01:01That started off, Neptune started off as an anti-shipping missile, but they've advanced that.
01:07And it's now got a range of about 1,000 kilometers.
01:10But what Taurus and Storm Shadow give, what Zelensky's current organic deep strike capability doesn't have,
01:16is the ability to have this bunker buster effect.
01:18So what Taurus can do, what Storm Shadow can do, is it can target hardened facilities, commander control structures, for example.
01:26So if Zelensky, through this deal, manages to get a bunker buster capability,
01:32he will be able to target commander control and logistics resupply,
01:36pushing that back further into Russian territory,
01:39which will make it harder for Putin to be able to resupply any infantry movements in the occupied territories, for example.
01:45Mikey, thanks so much.
