00:00Hello, my name is Paula Hill and I'm here on behalf of the PBS Learning Media team.
00:09Today we're going to show you how to use our Lesson Builder tool.
00:12Let's check it out.
00:16The Lesson Builder tool allows you, as an educator, to add additional context and tasks
00:21to media you're looking to share with students.
00:25You may access the Lesson Builder tool from either the Teacher menu or the Dashboard.
00:35When you click on Lesson Builder, a page will load with access to the Lesson Builder tool.
00:41You will be able to add a title to your lesson, add instructions for your students, as well
00:48as media, question, or text slides.
00:52To select media for your lesson, navigate to the Add a Slide section and select Media
00:57as the slide type.
01:00Click on the Choose Media button.
01:03This will provide you the opportunity to select media from PBS Learning Media that you have
01:07already added to your Favorites, search content from the entire Learning Media catalog, or
01:15upload your own media.
01:22If you are selecting content from a media gallery, all assignable media will automatically
01:26appear, but you will have the ability to delete any media slides you do not want to include
01:31in the final lesson.
01:32While media titles will auto-populate, you will have the ability to change them as you'd
01:37like.
01:38After selecting your media, you may choose to add any additional slides you would like.
01:52When you are done creating your lesson, you will have three options to share with your
02:01students.
02:03You may assign the lesson to a class you have already created or would like to create on
02:07Learning Media.
02:09This option will require students to log in and will provide you with student work results.
02:15You can assign the lesson on Google Classroom to classes you have already imported to Learning
02:19Media.
02:21This option requires students to log on to Google to access the assignment and does provide
02:25you with student work results as a PDF on the Google Classroom platform.
02:30Finally, you can utilize our Quick Assign method in which you are provided with an assignment
02:35code that students can input from the PBS Learning Media student site.
02:41Students will not need to sign in as they will be provided with the opportunity to enter
02:44their name and student work results will be available.
02:48If you are not ready to assign the lesson you just built, you may select Save and the
02:52lesson will be saved in the Assignments page under Awaiting Assignment.
02:58You may also choose to duplicate and edit your lesson for various class periods or to
03:02differentiate instruction.
03:05To duplicate a lesson, select Duplicate from the ellipsis menu and a pop-up window will
03:10prompt you to edit what you would like the new copy of the assignment to be named.
03:15The default will include the word Copy in front of the original assignment's name.
03:20Then you will select whether to save the new copy to Awaiting Assignment or you can choose
03:26to proceed to assign the content right then by selecting I'm ready to assign this.
03:31If you would like to edit the content, you may click on the pencil icon and adjust your
03:37lesson as needed.
03:45If you would like more assistance using PBS Learning Media, you may access our Help page
03:53found at the bottom of our site.
