00:16 Moomba's flagship boat, the Makai.
00:18 This 24 and a half footer puts out a killer
00:20 waking wave for a lot of fun on the water,
00:23 but it's also got a lot of room for you
00:25 to bring all of your friends and family.
00:27 I'm gonna show you all the features,
00:28 and then later on, team representative Trevor Hanson
00:31 is gonna show you how to set it up
00:32 for the wakeboarding and wake surfing fun.
00:35 With the wide styling of the bow of the Makai,
00:37 you've got tons of room up here for adults
00:39 or a few kiddos, they're gonna love it up here.
00:41 You can take out this center cushion
00:42 to make it a walkthrough, or put it in like it is now,
00:45 have a playpen area, you're gonna have
00:47 a ton of comfort either way.
00:48 You've got storage underneath.
00:50 I like the fact that you've got some gator step,
00:52 both on the sides and here on the bow,
00:54 so stepping in and out, you've got a little more grip,
00:56 and really, it's just a well thought out, nice lounge area.
01:00 So with a boat the size of the Makai,
01:02 the cabin's gonna have plenty of room
01:03 for lots of friends and family to sit comfortably,
01:05 but also have room for all of their stuff.
01:07 What's great about these seats, they're on hinges,
01:09 so it's really easy to access the storage areas.
01:12 I also like that you can slide the rear bench in
01:14 and customize your seating.
01:16 You can add a seat back here,
01:17 so people can just sit backwards
01:18 and watch all the action on the water,
01:20 and it's just a nice, well thought out cabin area
01:23 that's got all the things that you would need,
01:24 cup holders, phone holders, speakers, you name it,
01:27 they've got it in the Makai.
01:28 Another nice feature on this Makai that we're on,
01:30 it's got the Thermoskins interior.
01:31 It won't get hot under sun, so even though this is black,
01:34 you can still sit on it and not burn yourself.
01:36 There's a couple really cool features
01:38 on the tower here for the Makai also.
01:40 You've got tow points up above for wake surfing,
01:42 so you can tow on port and starboard.
01:44 It makes it really easy for those beginning riders,
01:46 they don't have to deal with the rooster tail
01:47 when they're getting up.
01:49 And up above in the Bimini, it's giving you plenty of shade,
01:52 but it's also giving you extra storage.
01:53 You can fit a couple wake surfboards up there
01:55 and get them out of the way.
01:56 And then you've got these board racks right behind me.
01:59 They pivot in and make it really easy to access.
02:01 Plus, they've got extra space,
02:03 so they can hold your wake surfboards
02:04 that are a little bit thicker
02:05 and keep everything nice and safe and stable.
02:08 Back here at the Trance in the Makai,
02:09 I really like these two lounger seats.
02:12 They're really comfortable to sit on,
02:13 great for if you're tied up at the ski beach
02:15 or just floating in the water watching the kids swim.
02:18 You've also got a pop-up tow pylon
02:19 if you wanna take those kids tubing.
02:21 And you've got a nice walkthrough area,
02:23 so you don't have to step on your upholstery
02:24 when you're getting in and out.
02:27 Here at the helm of the Makai,
02:28 you've got a nice mix of analog and digital technology,
02:31 which is really easy for the driver to use.
02:33 On the left-hand side, you've got your stereo controls
02:36 and your FlowSurf controls,
02:37 so you can switch left and right with the flick of a switch.
02:39 On the right-hand side, you've got your analog gauges
02:42 for things like your blower, your lights, and your heater.
02:44 That's another nice option on this Makai.
02:46 You can put the heater system in,
02:47 stay warmer on those cool days.
02:49 And then at the steering wheel, you've got toggle switches.
02:52 For the wake plate on the left
02:53 and the cruise control on the right.
02:55 So you can easily make those adjustments on the fly
02:57 and adjust things for the rider
02:58 without taking your eyes off the water.
03:00 And then here on the top right,
03:01 you've got a touch screen that lets you access
03:03 all of your wake surf and wakeboard systems,
03:06 ballast, speed control, everything that you need.
03:08 Trevor's gonna walk you through all of that
03:10 and show you how to use it to optimize your day on the water.
03:12 And then I like that you've got two wireless chargers.
03:16 You've got one here on the left so you can see your phone
03:18 and one here in the cubby to keep your phones charged all day.
03:20 It's a really well thought out helm area on the Moomba Makai.
03:23 I'm Trevor Hansen, Moomba representative,
03:26 and we're sitting here at the helm of the brand new Makai.
03:29 This boat is loaded with really cool features in the helm.
03:32 They did a really great job of just making it
03:35 a comfortable place to drive from.
03:36 Phone charger, stereo, everything super easy to use.
03:39 But one of my favorite things as a rider
03:42 is how easy the screen is to use for anybody.
03:45 They did a fantastic job with graphics
03:47 that really show you exactly what's going on
03:49 inside the boat.
03:51 As you're adding weight to the boat,
03:52 the graphics will actually show you
03:54 what's happening with the displacement.
03:55 Once you incorporate all that stuff that they've done
03:58 with the auto wake system,
03:59 it just makes it a very easy, seamless system to use,
04:03 regardless of how familiar you are
04:04 with driving a wakeboard boat.
04:06 One of the nice things about the Moomba
04:08 is that it already shows you a lot of stuff
04:10 about your intermediate to advanced level riding
04:13 on the screen.
04:14 So you can go into your presets.
04:16 They have presets for beginners, intermediate, advanced,
04:19 and all the way up to pro level riding.
04:20 So you can just select one of those presets.
04:23 The ballast will fill accordingly.
04:25 Then you can play with your trim settings,
04:26 whether you're going to surf on the right,
04:28 surf on the left.
04:29 It'll let you go in there and customize your plate settings.
04:33 They do a really great job from the factory,
04:34 just giving you some settings that are already great
04:37 right out the gates.
04:38 But if you want to go in there and play with them,
04:40 you can move them up and down.
04:42 And then I always use the center wake plate.
04:44 It's one of the easiest ways to make adjustments.
04:46 When you're at zero, it's going to be as steep
04:49 and as short as physically possible,
04:51 as far as the wake shape is concerned.
04:53 And then as you go closer to 100,
04:55 it's going to make it flatter and a lot longer
04:57 for more of the skim style surfing.
04:59 So it's just a really easy system to use.
05:02 Turn the auto wake system on, let it do it all for you.
05:04 You don't have to worry about moving people side to side.
05:07 Moomba did an awesome job to make this boat
05:09 super easy to use.
05:10 - Over the years, Moomba's made a name for itself
05:14 by bringing value and performance to the wake sports market.
05:18 And that's never been truer than with this 2023 Mackay.
05:21 From front to back, you get all of that.
05:23 You get the comfort, you get the entertainment,

05:33 whether you're a beginner that's just learning
05:35 or you're a pro.
05:36 This boat really can do it all,
05:38 and you can do it all in style
