American students are heading to more affordable Canadian colleges.
The high cost of an American college education is causing several students to seek their knowledge north of the border.
Over the past decade, the number of Americans enrolling in Canadian colleges and universities has increased by 50 percent and is now about 10 thousand.
One student said he chose McGill University in Montreal over Washington DC’s George Washington because it was 1/4th the price.
For many, astronomical education costs mean crushing student loan debt.
The Institute for College Access & Success reports that the average student leaves college with over 26 thousand dollars of debt. 9 percent of borrowers default within two years.
A degree from a Canadian educational institution meets the global standards and the country boasts having some of the highest ranked universities in the world.
