Crows Build Nest on Yacht Mast

Crows build a nest on a yacht mast.

Many boat designs integrate natural elements but one particular yacht owner has nature doing the work for him.

A family of crows chose to build their nest on top of a yacht’s mast at a Welsh marina in the UK. Now, if you are familiar with boat terminology, the crow's nest is the lookout point on a ship’s main mast. So the owner can be proud to have a real crow's nest on his yacht's crow's nest.

According to employees, the crows began working to create the nest several weeks ago and surprisingly, it has held up against very extreme winds.

Luckily, the yacht owner is lenient, stating “I'm happy for them to raise their family on my boat.”

Last year, another creature, although far more violent, briefly visited a boat. Three men were injured after a breaching whale leapt from underneath the water and landed on top of their boat.

The men stated that they were slowly trolling approximately half a mile away from the shore in South Africa, when the whale breached and crashed on their boat, pushing it and all three occupants underwater
