On Saturday, August 4th, Lollapalooza was evacuated at approximately 3 pm ahead of heavy rain and lightening. Concert goers sought shelter up and down Michigan Avenue for two and a half hours. Finally event staff used social media to let people in at 6 pm. As the crowds queued up at the gate, some guy climbed a light pole and started swaying back and forth. As he tried to dismount, the light pole toppled over on the crowd. Happily, no one was injured. The young man melted into the crowd and was not arrested.
