A good mattress isn’t cheap. Well a British bed manufacturer, Savoir Beds is releasing limited edition mattresses for a mind-boggling price of $175,000.
Deemed the ‘Royal Bed’, the company’s bedding is slated to launch at Kensington Palace in London. The managing director of Savoir Beds, Alistair Hughes states “It's an investment that pays off every morning of your life. Of course it's a massive amount of money and it will only appeal to the very lucky and very wealthy.”
Each mattress requires approximately 700 hours of labor. Every single bed contains Latin American horse tail, 1,600 miles of specially woven silk and luxurious cashmere.
Only 60 mattresses will be made and buyers can customize them in size, support and can even have their initials embroidered onto the surface. As a bonus, the bedding is guaranteed to last at least 25 years.
Savoir Beds was cast into the American spotlight for luxury bedding in 2010 when the company opened its first store in New York City. Back then, their featured mattress boasted a price tag of $50,000.
It featured deep springs, an oak base and of course, the signature to any luxury product…pounds of cashmere.
