Number 5 - In perhaps some of the earliest sporting events to be shown on video, Germany was planning to showcase the Olympic Games. As further detailed - 'The German National Olympic Committee has decided to employ the cinematograph to arouse popular interest in the Olympic Games at Berlin in 1916.'

Number 4 - St. Patrick Parade has always been a big draw and in 1913, it was the biggest parade ever with 25,000 attending the festivities. The report noted - "So many people with sprays of shamrock on their hats, Irish emblems on their coats, and green flags fluttering in their hands."

Number 3 - Postum was asking you to switch to its coffee alternative because as the company said 'Modern science
has brought out some startling facts about coffee during the past few months.
