Number 5 – Women’s rights were a focus 100 years ago. Under consideration was the passage of ‘Seven Sisters’ bills which would pave the way for a women's right to vote. Almost 2,000 females gathered in Trenton for the cause and all of the bills were passed.
Number 4 – In early 2013, a man found a 7-pound piece of whale vomit or ambergris on a beach valued at $68,000. Well some things never change. In 1913, a steam whaler discovered a lump of ambergris weighing almost half a ton in a carcass of a whale. Due to its value in medicine and perfumes, the substance was just as valuable then as it is today. According to a chemist, that lump was valued at $300,000 - which would be worth millions in today's dollars.
Number 3 – Hampton shops advertised their 17th century home furniture, made to replicate the décor of an English Country House. The language was quite persuasive - 'There is a certain sober quietude of air about the low ceilinged rooms of the Seventeenth Century English County House which is not altogether due to the mellow-ing influences of time.'

Her employer took her out on numerous dates and proposed marriage. She accepted his offer but became ill and that’s when the future groom decided not to marry her.
