Car Reverses and Slams into Downtown Store

A car reverses into a downtown store.

A car in reverse can do some serious damage. Recently, a station wagon was lodged into a shop in a town center in Essex, United Kingdom.

Apparently, the vehicle had been in reverse when it crashed through the glass of the store. It destroyed the front of the building.

The station wagon was almost entirely in the shop, covered by glass, debris and items that were previously for sale. According to firefighters, it was amazing that nobody was injured during the ordeal as there were a number of citizens near the location at the time of the crash.

Earlier this year, a 64-year-old woman in Lucerne put her car in reverse and ended up backing into a classroom. She drove backwards at high speed right through the school's glass walls.

Apparently she was trying to park when her foot slipped causing the woman to hit the gas instead of the brake. A police official states "Luckily the school was closed at the time." The female driver sustained only minor injuries.
