Hello and welcome to the video reference series presented by termpapergurus.com. In this lecture, we will discuss how to cite a book written by a single author in the reference list of a APA format paper.
The last name of the author comes first. Always remember to put the last name first, the initial of the first name after it and the initial of the middle name at the end. It’s funny how everything is paradoxical. The last name is first, and the first initial is in the middle and the middle initial is at the end. Well, that’s education for you. Anyways, the initials are separated by a dot and the last name by a comma. This is followed by the year that the book was published in brackets, and the book title in italics. Also, remember to capitalize only the first word of the book title. We conclude with location, that is, the name of the city the book was published in. And publisher, which is the name of the publishing company.
Here is an example of a citation. Please remember, to use hanging indents. If you don’t know how to use them, we have a separate video on it. Please click the link and it will take you there. That’s all for this video I guess, take good care of your academics! Bye!
Last name, First initial. Middle initial. (Year). Book title. Location: Publisher.
