Artist Creates Balloon Couture Dresses

Tokyo based artists have created an entire line of feminine dresses dubbed ‘Daisy Balloon’.

The garments are created using a special type of balloon knitting. The dresses are slowly built and pieced together, creating small circular bubbles.

Models dress in the unique balloon gowns and they are then photographed. One photo shows a maroon halter dress. Two balloon strands make up the halter cut, derived of connected round inflatable bubbles.

The body hugging, corset style upper half is similar, created with stacked oval balloons. The skirt serves as the most standout aspect, giving the dress a couture look. With a flowing appearance, the folds curve upwards, resting midair.

Another piece shows a very short dress with trails of balloons drifting upwards from the skirt. Appearing like chain links, the lines of inflatable balloons curve up and over the models head, with a full-sized traditional balloon existing at the end of the link.

The dresses may be impractical for everyday wear, but they all contain extravagant details.
