Thousands of children gather in the slums of India to learn to read and write. The teachers are volunteers, many of whom only a few years before were struggling to get an education themselves.
Teachers and pupils are part of a project called 'Read India' started by Madhav Chavan, a chemical engineer who has been inspired to bring education to the underprivileged of the subcontinent.
