The tragedy that played out on October 23, 2002, at one of the Moscow musical theaters has been called the "Russian 9/11". Terrorists took 916 people hostage during the musical Nord Ost, demanding the withdrawal of Russian forces from Chechnya. The hostages were released three days later, but 130 people died during the siege. RT met with people who were in the theater 10 years ago to hear their story.
