South Sudan has become the world's newest nation following separation from the North. Thousands of people have taken part in massive celebrations in the city of Juba, the capital of the new country. However, the two separated countries have not yet reached an agreement on their borders, natural resources, or the status of their citizens. Clashes over disputed territories still continue in some areas.
