P6 EPPM has been updated to Release 8.2 as of the end of December. With 8.2, Oracle has simplified the installation of EPPM but it is still a daunting task for IT departments that are not already well versed in the latest Oracle Technologies. Oracle highly recommends having EPPM 8.2 hosted.
8.2 web has some interesting new functionality including Team Member web app and email statusing to support remote updates. This is coupled with a new function to review and approve status updates before applying them to the schedule. 8.2 also includes some new enhancements in MS Project integration.
Don McNatty will demonstrate live access into a hosted deployment of R8.2 (web) to review the new functionality including how to import and export schedules with remote users on P6 Professional. Don will also cover how to create and configure new projects in EPPM including setting up new users, adding projects, creating WBS and activities as well as resource loading on the web.
